Therefore, even if the test scores are lower, a group with the highest general intelligence (Jews) would also have high spatial thinking on TRUE tests of spatial thinking, which are real life activities, such as technology, which they do. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-31104625898843640092016-10-21T00:11:42.601-07:002016-10-21T00:11:42.601-07:00Jews excel in areas that require tremendous spatia...Jews excel in areas that require tremendous spatial IQ, & this could not be achieved unless their spatial IQ's were higher than tests are detecting. They dominate in spatial areas such as surgical medicine, chess, and physics. Einstein and Mandelbrot were 2 of the greatest visual-spatial thinkers ever and were Jews. Remember, similarly, tests of spatial thinking also once indicated people with high-functioning Autism/Asperger's were impaired with Spatial reasoning and later it was indicated they are superior with it through newer variants/different sub-types of tests. There are many forms of Spatial thinking, and only a few common types represented on tests. Jewish culture also promotes other brain functions from birth, while non-Jews are conditioned Spatial thinking more on a daily basis, well before school administers such assessments to them. Therefore, even though IQ is hereditary, the lack of cultivation could be depressing those assessments. I have recently realized that there is...Good point. I have recently realized that there is a "placebo effect" of motivation.

Let's say that you like to play chess in a chess club. But you realize that the chess club wastes too much of your time. And you want to leave the chess club.

However, you are free to join or leave the club as you wish. Signing up or signing out of the club is free and takes no time.

But if you sign out the club, you will be less motivated to participate in the club, even though you could easily sign-in again. Why?

Let's go back to the time when you were registered in the chess club. At that time, day after day, night after night, you daydream about "who are you going to beat next in chess" and how you want to "be the top player in the chess club." You daydream about beating other players at work. You daydream about beating other players when you are at home.

But once you sign out of the club, you are less likely to daydream about beating the other players, in your spare time. There is less daydreaming about winning chess, so you have spared time you spent daydreaming with something else. The daydreaming is a distraction to you.

This is what I call the "placebo effect" of motivation. Something simple such as "signing out" could motivate you, even though you could easily sign-up again.

That's also why you are more likely to be motivated when you "just do it." Let's say you are procrastinating, such as watching YouTube videos rather than to do work. But you decided, what the heck, and you "just do it", you will directly switch to the work, and you will be more motivated? Why? Because when you do the work, you forget all of the YouTube videos. You will not think of "what's going to happen next in the YouTube video." Doing to work let's you to suppress your curiosity of watching YouTube videos. I'm saying that working is a distraction from your play time. When you work, you forget about daydreaming what would happen next in the video.

Do you have more ideas about motivation?3D Face Analysishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07002380940176488169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-7939207164303246882012-01-14T07:27:24.585-08:002012-01-14T07:27:24.585-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.3D Face Analysishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07002380940176488169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-38149576623596883032012-01-14T07:23:38.404-08:002012-01-14T07:23:38.404-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.3D Face Analysishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07002380940176488169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-27054478536181496122012-01-13T23:14:47.596-08:002012-01-13T23:14:47.596-08:00The pain and pleasure of things can be enhanced an...The pain and pleasure of things can be enhanced and reduced by thought alone.

The pleasure of a pizza can be enhanced by vividly imagining all its juicy details, recalling past pleasurable pizza memories, seeing yourself eating the pizza, etc. The pain of a pizza can be enhanced by imagining what you look like 5 pounds fatter, etc. Imagination evokes emotion, and emotions are strong psychological motivators.

With practice, you can develop the ability to recall emotions on demand. Then you can just recall the the desired emotion after perceiving the desired stimulus. With reinforcement, this will create a connection between the stimulus and the emotion.

Since procrastination is a 'stimulus' perceptible only by analyzing your own thoughts (i guess), it helps to enhance your capacity for self-consciousness/self-monitoring. Meditation can help here, and generally for other reasons.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-68566052963519047852011-10-02T19:24:11.573-07:002011-10-02T19:24:11.573-07:00Most of this is a strawman do to a flawed understa...Most of this is a strawman do to a flawed understanding of mutualism. There's culture. Also, the races may have different preferences. For example, whites may be more ambitious than blacks. Therefore whites earn more because they are more ambitious, not because they're more intelligent.

Whites may care more about their children. So they choose to earn more to provide for their children. It's basic kin-selection. Again, this may be another explanation for the income gap.

My two explanations of why whites earn more than blacks have nothing to do with their differences in intelligence.3D Face Analysishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07002380940176488169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-48492085553117648702011-01-05T00:17:37.149-08:002011-01-05T00:17:37.149-08:00"Culture" is what people invoke when the..."Culture" is what people invoke when they lack an explanation other than genetics but have a mental block against genetics.

http://fringeresponds.tumblr.com/post/1465562067/re-the-case-against-racial-differences-in-iq

http://www.fringeelements.info/theseriesthatneededtobedone

Both geography and genetics obviously play a role in "civilizations". The poor soil and lack of domesticatable animals can explain a lack of civilization in Africa, it doesn't explain the universally low performance among blacks within places like the UK.

Also a conformist mentality can explain why Asian nations took longer to develop, but Asians can still be smarter than Europeans.

You can claim that IQ primarily measures visual-spatial reasoning, but that doesn't matter since IQ correlates very highly with income and other "positive social outcomes".

Just stand back, humans migrated out of Africa, and developed differently in different places. Different body structures in so many ways, yet the brains are to all be the same? Empirically, we know this to be false. Almost all studies have shown the aggregate brain sizes of blacks and whites to be DIFFERENT. Perhaps the smaller brain is "smarter", perhaps the larger one is. But they are different.

To say "the income gap is caused by culture" totally fails. Would there be no income gap if not for cultural issues? Would blacks be earning more if not for culture? Or still earning less, not just as much less? Even if this amorphous "culture" thing plays some role, you still have to come down on the issue finally.fringeelementsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167174016275703196.post-67956167536068437502010-12-03T23:15:16.340-08:002010-12-03T23:15:16.340-08:00If you are back on, please check out the thread Pr...If you are back on, please check out the thread Praxeology and Linguistics here: http://mises.org/Community/forums/t/19298.aspx

and TONS of discussion here:

http://mises.org/Community/forums/t/18573.aspx

The poster I.
